Home Revolution is excited to share our sponsorship of the BadgerLoop! Built by a dedicated team of University of Wisconsin-Madison students, the Badgerloop is a futuristic, human-scale Hyperloop pod that won third place overall in the initial round of SpaceX’s competition. It is headed for the next round of competition January 27-29, 2017 on SpaceX’s live track. There the students will race their levitating pod against twenty other college teams from all across the globe.

More information about the Hyperloop from a UW-Madison’s report:

“The Hyperloop is a conceptual high-speed, tube-based transportation system first proposed by SpaceX and Tesla Motors co-founder Elon Musk in 2013. It involves transporting passengers in pods traveling as fast as 760 mph in vacuum tubes above ground. With the Hyperloop, passengers could travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco in less than 30 minutes.”

Jay Goldberg, the founder of Home Revolution, attended the unveiling of the BadgerLoop at UW-Madison on December 6. He was lucky enough to be one of the first to sit in the pod, as you’ll see in the picture below. He had an amazing time learning more about the engineering of the pod and meeting the bright students responsible for this project.

One thing we love about the BadgerLoop is that it’s built by UW-Madison undergraduate engineering students, whereas most of the competitor pods are made by graduate students and professors. These UW-Madison students also work on this project in their free time and not as part of their coursework, demonstrating their dedication to their personal learning and achievement as well as their contribution to our overall global future.

Home Revolution is proud to support these students in their commitment to engineering a brighter future for us all. We look forward to the exposure this project and these students will receive at this upcoming international competition in California. Stay tuned with the HomeRev blog to learn more about this remarkable endeavor!
